BOOK LIST: Interior Design Resource
I decided to share interior design books I have purchased either for school or on my own, in case anyone may be wondering what they should add to their resource library.
***The links provided are Amazon Affiliate links which means I may receive a small commission if you purchase any of the items using the link. If you do decide to purchase with my link, thank you so much in advance!
1. "Textiles for Residential and Commercial Interiors" by Amy Willbanks, Dana Miller, and Nancy Oxford
- This is the link for the 4th edition of the book. I, personally, have the 3rd edition of the book.
2. "Interior Materials and Surfaces: The Complete Guide" by Helen Bowers
- Purchased this for my senior year in college
by Rosemary Kilmer & W. Otie Kilmer
- I just purchased this book this summer to refresh my memory plus, this will definitely be helpful when drafting for projects
4. "Professional Practice for Interior Designers" by Christine M. Piotrowski
- Personally, I purchased the 2012 and 2014 editions. I'd say get the most updated version to ensure you receive updated files from the CD.
5. "Business and Legal Forms for Interior Designers, Second Edition" by Tad Crawford & Eva Doman Bruck
- Great to reference to when figuring out what to include in your contracts plus, the types of contracts you should have handy.
6. "The Interior Design Reference & Specification Book: Everything Interior Designers Need to Know Every Day" by Chris Grimley and Mimi Love
- Wonderful book to reference from! It's small enough to carry in your bag on the go.
7. "Interior Design Reference Manual: Everything You Need to Know to Pass the NCIDQ Exam" by David Kent Ballast
- I purchased this book back in 2015 when I was hoping to take the NCIDQ exam. It's a good reference book as well and HUGE. It covers a lot of material to help with all three parts of the exam.
